To solve these two troublesome problems, we only need to configure the Remote Desktop Licensing Service of Server 2008 R2. The experimental operation configuration is as follows:

The prerequisites for this experiment are:

1. The server has enabled remote desktop. 2. The server can connect to the Internet.

Experimental environment: server 2008R2 server IP (192.168.0.107) win7 client IP (192.168.0.105)

Three server users are required: cs1, cs2, cs3

First, add three users on the server: cs1, cs2, and cs3, and add these three users to the remote desktop user group.

1. Enable the Remote Desktop Authorization Service on this machine

1. Open "Server Manager" - "Roles" - "Add Roles" - "Remote Desktop Services"

For "Authentication method", it is recommended to select the second one "Do not require Network Level Authentication" because if you select the first one. If the XP system is connected to Server 2008, the system will prompt you that it cannot connect.

For "RD Authorization Configuration", select "For this workgroup". Since we are not using AD now, there is no need to select "This domain". 2. The Remote Desktop Services authorization operation configuration is as follows:

1. "Start" - "Administrative Tools" - "Remote Desktop Services" - "Remote Desktop Session Host Configuration".

3. In the pop-up window, the system will prompt you that "there is no relevant certificate server"

4. Click "Close". Under the "Authorization" option, select "Per User", click Add, and then add the local computer.

We can see that Microsoft has assigned a license ID to our server. We need to copy this ID information as it will be used later.

Open the Server Activation Wizard and copy the following license server ID into the wizard.

4. Modify remote user session restrictions

Open Remote Desktop Session Host Configuration - Edit Settings - uncheck "Limit each user to one session".
