<br />Original text: http://blog.rexsong.com/?p=1166 There are two main backgrounds of people who design websites: studying computer science and studying art. Basically, those who can write code don’t understand design, and those who can design don’t understand code. This pattern seems to have not changed to this day. Some students who study computer science have their own aesthetic taste and can make good-looking websites, but students who study art generally find it difficult to understand the code. I once went to the Wangjing CAFA dormitory to tutor a friend. The forum has played a vital role in promoting technology. In 2003, I read old posts on Blue Classic every day. In 2004 and 2005, I mainly stayed at Wuyou Script and China XML Alliance. I don't think ChinaUI has much technical content, and I'm not an artist. Yueying, the moderator of Wuyou Forum, has already published a book. Time flies, and everyone is making faster progress. Use scripts to attract attention <br />When we started doing web design, we were lucky enough to complete the page. Influenced by the works on the Internet, we gradually began to pursue various eye-catching special effects. Because I thought that thing was really cool, and in fact, people who could write scripts did have a very high salary in 2001. At that time, when I visited various product websites, I relied on gorgeous designs and dazzling scripts, and had no concept of simplicity. Later, as it developed more maturely, many technical websites providing "eye-catching services" were born naturally, and some kind-hearted people organized all kinds of strange things on the Internet into categories. We enthusiasts look for it every day to see if there is anything suitable that can be used on our own site. What I used to do was to patiently look through the various fresh goods at each station and organize them again using favorites. The most typical one is an article called "XX Most Commonly Used Classic Techniques of Javascript", which lists dozens of simple and easy-to-use scripts with outstanding effects. Even if you don't understand it, you can still use it easily. Just remember what this code is used for. It seems to have been circulated in 2002. Materials cause depreciation of design <br />The purpose of using materials is to achieve efficient operation and mass production, but it will inevitably lead to a decline in design quality and serious problems of homogeneity. At that time, a large number of crystal-style buttons and Korean graphic decorations could be seen on every design website. In order to enable faster production and more intuitive customer selection, a large number of Korean, European and American style templates have been created. There are a large number of businessmen on the Internet who resell screenshots and templates. While they make a little money from this, they also cause great harm to the design industry. A lot of beautiful materials are the kind that are okay to watch once, but you’ll get bored of them after watching them a few times. The most annoying thing is that everyone has them, so the works look familiar no matter how you look at them, so they quickly pass by like a gust of wind. It’s like the webmaster’s gust of wind on a windy day back then, haha. Since 2003, some netizens have published screenshot libraries, which are screenshots of good websites on the Internet that they have collected and organized. Soon after, there were websites that specialized in providing similar services. At about the same time, a number of showcase websites emerged abroad. Reconstruction Revolution <br />Only then did we realize that what was written in the previous books, "It is not recommended to use div too much", is bullshit. The best way to learn is to study more mature works. Only then did I have a conceptual introduction to website interface design, and at least I knew about structure, expression, and behavior. The most important thing, I think, is to promote changes in design style while refactoring the code. We have begun to notice why foreign websites are always so concise? Why are pages written with CSS so concise? Some friends also believe that it is web2.0 that has promoted the development of website reconstruction. Students who do code refactoring basically go through a process from standardization to minimalism and then back to flexibility. Last time we analyzed the ExtJS code, the effect was amazing, but the structure was extremely complex, with the CSS alone weighing more than 500k. After user experience , the most talked about topics in professional forums began to be UI and GUI, which were basically related to software. For example, ChinaUI was also founded in this context, including the later UIGarden. What they said was either incomprehensible to me or seemed very simple and strange to me. I realized that working on the web and graphic are two completely different concepts, so I proposed WUI, but no one paid attention to me. Students who are good at GUI may not be good at web development. Although the purpose of both is to communicate, graphic is more inclined to design graphics, while web is more inclined to design information. Up to now, I have only worked on web-based products, and this aspect alone is enough of a hassle. As a practitioner, what I feel most deeply is that I don’t have enough accumulation, and I have to rack my brains every time to deal with things. In addition, the pursuit of design idealism in the domestic Internet industry requires a nagging spirit. |
