Web Design: The Accurate Location and Use of Massive Materials

Three times of memorization allows you to remember the exact location and purpose of massive materials, improving their usability.

This is just a schematic diagram. In the past, I was able to know where the materials I needed were as soon as an idea popped into my head... At that time, I was very poor, so poor that I didn't even have money to buy books, let alone buy design resource CDs that cost hundreds of yuan.
I think the biggest feature of a designer is his special folder, which can be called "miscellaneous", "messy", "everything" or "hodgepodge". No one cares too much about the things in this folder, but many excellent ideas or dazzling effects are often inspired by this folder. It can be said to be a place where the essence is concentrated, or it can be said to be a distribution center for garbage. I even judge the level of a designer by whether this folder exists...
During the time I was guiding my colleagues, I discovered a very important problem. They knew the importance of collecting materials. They also knew that this action would greatly shorten their design time. However, they did not classify the materials carefully enough. It was very confusing. It was not conducive to finding the right things quickly. Moreover, their memory of materials was very poor. Basically, they just saved the materials that looked good, and that was it.
In the process of collecting, every thing I saved had its reason . Whether it was a novel structure, a good color combination, or an elegant and noble movement, this was only the first memory . When I saved this thing to the corresponding category in my computer , this was the second memory. Every once in a while, I would go through these materials again . This was the third memory.
My classification is very detailed. I have a lot of materials. Every once in a while I will delete some things I like very much. Because I have the ability to make such things. Even learn from one thing and make more changes. I clearly remember where I can find what kind of things. Those inconspicuous txt documents can let me find the most distinctive files in the current folder in just a dozen seconds. I am very good at using ACDSEE to rename these files. All of my pictures are one set after another. There is absolutely no lonely picture. Because I will take time to imitate those effects to make things. Therefore, a psd, ai or fla folder is added to almost every directory.
Gradually, I stopped looking at those materials. Occasionally, I would just pick a few buildings or landscapes. The intervals between them became longer and longer. I gradually began to abandon these materials.
Throw away your collected materials!
After repeated analysis and comparison, I have a deeper understanding of these materials. I can even tell which website is made by which company. I can even tell you which website and which place and which picture can be directly used in which position of my stuff. And every time I have an idea, I will quickly think of his processing techniques. All this is due to my understanding and analysis of the materials. At this point, do you think you still need materials?
After I had to clean up my hard drive and then copy the materials, and after I had to upgrade from a 40G mobile hard drive to an 80G one, I left the company that had collected the materials for so long. I only have a pitiful part of it in my own machine, while the company's machine was full and then replaced. These are all my hard work. But I will not go back to copy. Including the source files of my previous works, because I believe that I can definitely surpass everything before...

I have a fixed time every day to wander on the list of cool sites. I will carefully analyze every cool site I am interested in until I understand the design ideas of this site. I will compare two very similar cool sites. I will study their highlights and think about what kind of techniques can be used to deal with this highlight. If it were me, how would I highlight this highlight? So my colleagues often see me looking at a site for more than half a day. There are a lot of papers in my trash can, all of which have been drawn over and over again. I can evolve a certain feature of a site into another complete site. When I have nothing to do, I will evolve those effects that interest me in my mind. When learning CSS, I often download the styles of those cool sites for analysis. Change the position. If it were me, could I think of the same or even better method? I keep thinking and learning every day. Until I found that I was learning alone...
When I first started making websites, I searched for good websites, found a suitable one, saved the page, and then modified it. Later, as the materials accumulated, I felt disgusted with my own approach. I started to use PS to make the whole picture. Although my superiors did not allow me to do so and said it was a waste of time, I still insisted. In the end, I made it as fast as modifying the saved webpage. When making pictures, I always thought about how to make my layout simpler without changing the effect. How to increase the reuse rate of this picture. How can I shorten the production time when using the same background with different colors... At that time, I was just pursuing benefits. But while pursuing benefits, I grasped the best and fastest learning method, at least, that's what I think.
I am still working hard at the bottom of the design industry. When my articles are reprinted, they are never signed with my name. No one adds the original URL either... I try to make sure that the phrase "weilaixu" does not appear, so that others will not look down on me... In the past, after each site was completed, I even added a thank you note in the least conspicuous place to thank the site I plagiarized. This is not allowed by the company, so I added it in a place where they cannot see it. But when I saw that the things I modified were plagiarized by others, the thank you note was still there... Am I really shameless? Or just generally shameless?
It is very painful for me to write articles. I often feel like vomiting blood. It is something I clearly understand, but I just can't express it in words. I am very sad. But I will not give up.
I changed my Chinese ID to "a person with a lot of shit". One day, I will turn all that shit into gold!!!
